No doubt you’re here because you have some level of interest in learning New Testament Greek to help you dig deeper in the scriptures. I would love the opportunity to help you gain some valuable tools in your pursuit of learning the truth and wisdom of God in the Bible.
Have you ever tried to use some recommended Bible study tools, but found that your lack of knowledge of the biblical languages prevented you from taking advantage of these resources? Gaining an elementary knowledge of biblical Greek will open some doors to study of the New Testament that remain closed for you. You won't be able to translate the Bible, but you will learn the alphabet, the basic structure of the language, and the fundamental vocabulary of Greek exegesis. These abilities will enable you to use published books, computer applications, and online resources that will enhance your study of the New Testament.
The class will be taught by Gary Radmacher, a "retired" pastor, and Sisters resident, who has taught this course as well as 1st and 2nd year Greek at college and seminary levels, and has used Greek in nearly forty years of ministry.
There will be no fee for this class, which will be held on Thursday evenings, 7:00-8:30, beginning September 12th, at the facilities of Sisters Community Church.
Do It Yourself Hebrew and Greek, by Edward W. Goodrick, a longtime professor at what is now Multnomah University in Portland, is the textbook we will be using. You can find new and used copies of this book on Amazon. It will be helpful if you can purchase this text, read the introduction, and bring it to the first class.
Be assured that I will do my best to make sure that everyone who wants to do this, can succeed. Please tell your friends who may be interested in participating in this class. This may be the opportunity of a lifetime for you! —Gary Radmacher
